What Is Osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a way of detecting, treating and preventing health problems by moving, stretching and massaging a person’s muscles and joints.
Osteopathy is based on the principle that the wellbeing of an individual depends on their bones, muscles, ligaments and connective tissue functioning smoothly together.
Osteopaths use physical manipulation, stretching and massage with the aim of:
- increasing the mobility of joints
- relieving muscle tension
- enhancing the blood supply to tissues
- helping the body to heal
In the UK, osteopathy is a health profession regulated by UK law as well as the General Osteopathic Council

FAQ’s
What to expect during your first visit ?
We will ask you about your symptoms and any factors that may have caused the problem. Details about your lifestyle, daily activities and hobbies are also important. Examinations involve testing of your muscles and joints. We may ask you to perform a few simple movements to assess your movement pattern and posture.
It may be necessary to remove clothing around the symptomatic area. If you would feel more comfortable, bring shorts or a vest to wear during the treatment session. Parental consent and chaperones are required for all patients under 16.
How Long Is The Session?
The initial consultation and treatment takes 30 minutes and follow-up treatments are also 30 minutes. Usually 2 to 6 treatments are needed depending on the injury, however the Osteopath will formulate a treatment plan which may vary. Many patients choose to have regular maintenance appointments to avoid recurring problems.
How Much Does It Cost?
The consultation fee starts from £55 and any follow up treatments thereafter are also charged from £55.
What to expect from your first treatment ?
We apply a range of techniques tailored to your individual needs to help relieve your pain and improve your movement. These may include:
- Movement of your muscles and joints

We work with the public and the osteopathic profession to promote patient safety by setting, maintaining and developing standards of osteopathic practice and conduct.
